In solidarity with the 68.5 million forcibly displaced children, women, and men around the world a solidarity walk of approx. 10 km is being planned ,to take place in Beaverlodge. This event will take place on SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2019 , starting at 10AM, at St. Mary’s Church in Beaverlodge.
We extend this invitation to you to join us on this walk! Together we hope to walk a small part of the Earth’s circumference, approx. 40,075 km. This walk is an act of solidarity, an opportunity for our community to take time to think about the many people affected by forced migration round the world and to share our small journey with theirs.
This action is part of the Share the Journey campaign which Development and Peace has promoted during the past year–2018/2019. Its theme is all about forced migration and the plight of refugees and migrants round the world. We hope some of you will be able to join us in this solidarity action.
If you wish to take part in this walk (for all or whatever part of it you can) you may contact Ginny (780-354-2694) or Mia (780-354-2108) to register or more details. A light lunch will be offered following the walk. Thank you!
